Calving Process::
Our heifers, due to the poor forage and weather conditions in 2006, should calve through this summer and into the fall. The vast majority of our heifers are 24-36 months old at time of calving. As they progress in their pregnancy, they are moved to holding pens at our headquarters where they can be watched closely. Approximately one in 20 to 30 heifers will have difficulty in the calving process and we intervene when required. All of our heifers are bred to low birth weight Angus bulls to minimize calving problems. All pairs are carefully paired, worked and numbered by our experienced ranch staff, usually within days of the calf's birth.
